Police in Nottingham are appealing for two individuals to come forward as witnesses after a woman experienced a serious sexual assault in a park. Officers were alerted to the incident, which took place in Victoria Park, situated off Bath Street, at approximately 03:00 GMT on Saturday. Nottinghamshire Police stated they are attempting to locate a man and a woman “who are believed to have seen what happened,” and are also requesting that other witnesses or anyone with relevant information contact them. The woman who was assaulted is currently being supported by officers. Det Sgt Barry Haines commented: “We are working to understand what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident and are currently pursuing a number of lines of inquiry.” He added: “To this end we would like to speak to two people who were in the park at the time and later spoke with the young woman involved.” Det Sgt Haines concluded: “We believe they have vital information about what happened and urge them to come forward without delay.”
