Police have identified the woman who died following a single-vehicle collision on the A9 in the Highlands. The deceased was Ashleigh Watson, 31, who was operating a Citroen DS3 in a southbound direction when she sustained critical injuries near Inshes, Inverness, at approximately 01:40 on Friday. Authorities confirmed she was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident. A 35-year-old man was transported to a hospital and is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries. Sgt Neil MacDonald issued a statement, saying: “Our thoughts remain with Ashleigh’s family and friends at this difficult time. Our investigation into the circumstances is ongoing and I urge anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has any information to contact us.” He further appealed to any drivers possessing relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
