Police Identify Man Who Died in Fort William Incident

Police have identified 25-year-old Ben Campbell as the man who died following an incident in Fort William. Authorities were dispatched to Grange Road in the town at approximately 9:55 PM on Thursday. A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. Mr. Campbell’s family issued a statement, saying: “He was a much-loved brother, son and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him”. Detective Inspector Calum Reid stated: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time and our officers will continue to support them as the investigation continues.” He added: “I’m aware this incident will be of concern to the local community, but I would like to reassure the public that additional patrols are in the area as part of the ongoing investigation and there is no wider threat to the community.”
