Police have identified the driver who died following a collision involving a lorry in Dumfries and Galloway. Archie Williams, aged 23, was operating a BMW when he sustained fatal injuries in Lockerbie on Tuesday, October 29. The incident, which also involved an articulated lorry, occurred on the B7076, close to its intersection with the A709, at approximately 23:55. Authorities are seeking individuals who may have witnessed the event, specifically the driver of a red car present in the vicinity at the time. Sgt Colin Ramage extended his sympathies to the family of Mr Williams, a Lockerbie resident. He stated, “We would appeal to anyone who was driving on the B7076 around the time of crash, who either witnessed it take place or who has any information that may assist.” Sgt Ramage further urged, “Any driver with dashcam footage is asked to please contact us as soon as possible.” He added, “We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a red car travelling southbound on the B7076 prior to the crash who may be able to assist with our investigation.” The 65-year-old driver of the lorry involved did not require medical attention at a hospital.
