Investigators have been granted additional time to hold three individuals in connection with a man’s death in Cornwall. Devon & Cornwall Police responded to reports of a seriously injured man at an address in Bosmeor Park, Illogan, shortly before 04:20 GMT on Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers found the man, who was in his 30s, deceased at the scene. A 61-year-old woman and two men, aged 22 and 38, remain in police custody under suspicion of murder. Detective Inspector Rob Smith, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, stated: “Officers have been given a Magistrates’ extension, which allows us extra time to detain three people in connection to our investigation.” He added: “It is believed all those involved are known to each other, but we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding this incident.” Detective Inspector Smith further appealed: “We are continuing to appeal for anyone with information which may assist our investigation, who has not yet spoken to officers, to please get in touch.” He also urged: “We also urge people not to speculate on social media about the circumstances around this matter.” Smith concluded: “Members of the public will see a heightened police presence in the area over the coming days as our inquiries continue.” Individuals with information that could assist are encouraged to contact the force or the independent charity, Crimestoppers.
