Demolition machinery is currently being escorted by police through a town in Surrey, an action that may result in disruptions. Surrey Police indicated that the escort will begin on Sunday at approximately 07:45 GMT from Bridge Street in Leatherhead and will no longer be required once the equipment has left the town. The route will involve travel along Bridge Street and North Street before proceeding into Bull Hill and Kingston Road, moving against the usual flow of the one-way system. During this period, the one-way system will be closed to all vehicles. A police escort is necessary for the equipment due to bridges that restrict its path. Surrey Police, which has not specified the anticipated time of the equipment’s exit from the town, expressed its intention to keep traffic disruption to a minimum.
