An advanced cannabis cultivation setup was discovered during a police operation at a Nottinghamshire residence. Law enforcement personnel served a warrant at a semi-detached dwelling located in Dale Close, West Bridgford, approximately at 07:00 GMT on Thursday. Nottinghamshire Police reported that three bedrooms on the upper floor and the attic space had been converted into a “substantial growing area”. Police personnel located 177 plants and noted that the property’s electrical system had been illegally circumvented. Sgt Che Sands, from the Rushcliffe North neighbourhood policing team, stated: “This was a sophisticated grow which would have made the criminals behind it a considerable amount of money.” He added: “Thankfully, we were able to act on intelligence provided to execute this warrant, seize the plants and put the grow out of use.” Sands further commented: “Grows on this scale can bring problems to the whole neighbourhood as they act like a magnet for other criminality.” He also highlighted: “The dangerous wiring used to power the grow was also creating a potential fire hazard for anyone living nearby.” The police force announced that all associated equipment would be dismantled and urged anyone possessing relevant information to come forward.
