Police have announced that a reported theft of 600 sheep from fields in Worcestershire will not be investigated further. It had been reported that the livestock were taken from secure fields in Kemerton on Friday, between 10:00 GMT and 17:00 GMT, and loaded onto a lorry. Initially, there were concerns that the sheep had been stolen for illegal butchering, leading to a public appeal to report suspicious meat sales. However, West Mercia Police stated that inquiries conducted by officers determined the incident to be a civil matter, and a spokesman confirmed: “No further police action was required.” Further content from BBC Hereford & Worcester can be accessed via BBC Sounds, Facebook, X, and Instagram.
