Authorities probing the fatality of an individual struck by a vehicle have launched a public appeal for eyewitness accounts and dashboard camera recordings. The 78-year-old pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Saturday, following the collision with the car in Congleton, which occurred on Wednesday 20 November. He was struck by a red Kia Ceed on Mill Street, close to Ableworld, around 11:45 GMT, according to Cheshire Police. The police department confirmed that the vehicle’s driver sustained no injuries and that no arrests have been carried out. Detective Constable Nicola Rimmer, from the serious collision investigation unit, stated: “As part of our investigation we are keen to speak to the occupants of a blue Toyota Hilux which was driving on Mill Street at the time of the incident.” She added: “The vehicle travelled from Mountbatten Way onto Mill Street and the occupants may be able to assist with our enquiries.” Investigators from the unit are encouraging any other individuals possessing relevant information to contact them.
