Law enforcement officials have reported the arrest of an individual suspected of carrying an imitation firearm in a public area. According to Devon and Cornwall Police, officers were dispatched to Plymouth city centre on Thursday around 20:00 GMT. The police force stated that a 47-year-old male, a resident of Plymouth, was taken into custody on suspicion of both possessing an imitation firearm in a public location and committing a racially aggravated public order offence. He reportedly remains in police custody. Authorities indicated that concerned members of the public “flagged down” officers who were present in the city centre. The force further communicated: “A search of a nearby property led officers to locate a number of replica firearms. These have been seized.”
