Proposals to convert a disused public house into a private dental surgery and residential units have received official approval. The applicant, 765 Investments, intends to redevelop The White Horse, located on Harborough Road in Kingsthorpe, Northampton, into three one-bedroom flats and a ground-floor dental practice. The Conservative-controlled West Northamptonshire Council sanctioned the plans for the property, which has been unoccupied for 15 years. Tory councillor Sam Rumens commented that the proposed regeneration was “great to see” and characterized the current building as an “eyesore”. The Local Democracy Reporting Service reported that the facility would incorporate three surgery rooms, one consultation room, a reception and waiting area, and other ancillary amenities. The proposed operating hours for the dental clinic are set from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays. This new utilization of the building is also projected to create 14 jobs, including positions for three dentists and five dental nurses. Mr. Rumens, a councillor for Kingsthorpe North, remarked: “This [building] has been an an eyesore for our part of the world for well over a decade.” He further stated: “Though I, like many in Kingsthorpe, wouldn’t be against it becoming a boozer again, it’s understandable that we have to accept a compromise here.” Post navigation Historic Manor House Set to Reopen After £1.8 Million Refurbishment Cambridge City Centre Car Park Set to Reopen Following Redevelopment Delays
