A pub well-known among football fans attending matches is being considered for conversion into a guest house, following the club’s impending move to its new stadium. The Winslow Hotel, located on Goodison Road in close proximity to Goodison Park stadium’s main stand, was recognized as the best match day pub in 2017. Everton is scheduled to relocate to its new home at Bramley Moore Dock in the coming months, a transition that is generating uncertainty for many businesses surrounding the 133-year-old stadium, which have historically relied on match-day commerce. A planning application has been submitted to Liverpool council for the conversion of The Winslow, also known locally as the People’s Pub, into a guest house. As per planning documents, the proposal outlines a series of modifications intended to establish 16 rooms spread across two levels. These changes involve repurposing the current bar and function rooms, as reported by the Local Democracy Reporting Service. This transformation into a guest house could offer a renewed future for The Winslow, which previously ceased operations in 2012 due to financial challenges. The establishment had served as the base for the Everton Supporters (Goodison) Club since 1995 and recommenced trading in March 2014 under new management.
