The incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 18:10 GMT, when the woman and child were hit by a grey Polestar while crossing Lound Side in Chapeltown, near the junction with Sussex Road. South Yorkshire Police reported that the woman’s injuries from the collision are “potentially life-threatening,” whereas the boy’s injuries were characterized as serious.
