A forty-year-old woman is in a critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in South Lanarkshire. Police officers were dispatched around 20:00 on Saturday following a report of a collision on Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen. The incident involved an orange Mitsubishi L200 and the woman, who was a pedestrian. Emergency services attended the scene, and she was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Medical staff there have assessed her condition as critical. The driver, a 33-year-old man, was arrested in connection with road traffic offences. He is scheduled to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash. Sgt Andrew Coutts stated: “I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.”
