Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom has expressed uncertainty regarding the club’s potential transfer activity in the upcoming January window. His comments followed his side’s Championship draw against Stoke City on Tuesday, which extended their current winless streak. Since taking over from Ryan Lowe shortly after the season began, Heckingbottom has overseen 18 games for The Lilywhites, securing victories in four of them. Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire, Heckingbottom stated: “Who knows what we’re going to be able to get done?” He added, “From my point of view coming into the club when I came in, transfer windows are going to be big for me.” Preston’s current winless streak in the Championship now stands at seven games. The goalless draw against the Potters on Tuesday marked the fifth stalemate within this period. Their most recent victory occurred on 19 October, against fellow strugglers Coventry City. When questioned about the necessity of significant squad alterations ahead of the January transfer window, Heckingbottom further commented: “One, it’s how much we’re capable of doing in terms of finance and opportunity. January is always difficult.” He continued, “The other thing is what we do between now and January. Lots of things I’ve been pleased with but I want to win more games, simple.” He concluded by saying, “That will always determine how aggressive we are in the transfer window and how adamant we are to get things done.” Post navigation Australia Secures Victory Over England with Late Try Cymru Premier League Latest Results
