Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson aims to build on his team’s recent 3-0 home victory against Exeter as they prepare to host Lincoln City at the Stok Racecourse on Tuesday. Lincoln, known as “The Imps,” currently sit one position outside the League One play-off places, following their 3-2 defeat to league leaders Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday. Wrexham occupies second place, trailing Wycombe by four points, having played an additional match. Parkinson commented on the upcoming fixture, stating, “It could be a great game, Lincoln, because I saw them play while we were looking at Exeter.” He further described Lincoln as “a physical team, a bit different to Exeter, but we’ll be ready for that. We’ll dust the lads down, get them recovered.” Prior to Saturday’s match, Wrexham had experienced a period of inconsistent performance, which included a narrow victory against Mansfield, a draw away at Charlton, a loss at Stockport County, and an FA Cup elimination by Harrogate. Parkinson expressed his anticipation for the upcoming home game, stating, “We can’t wait to run out here again on Tuesday night.” He emphasized the importance of their recent performance, adding, “It was important that we got back to a more consistent level of performance across the 90 minutes.” Reflecting on a previous match, he noted, “Mansfield, periods of the game were good, but then there were other periods where we were sloppy in possession.” However, Parkinson believed that Saturday’s display against Exeter more closely resembled Wrexham’s optimal form. He elaborated on the Exeter game, stating, “We had real control, that was very important for us to get back and put in a performance like we done earlier in the season, the Reading game, the Shrewsbury game, that was a similar type of performance today.” Sandi Toksvig will be accompanied by Gyles Brandreth, Lulu, Emmanuel Sonubi, and Alan Davies.
