The parents of a five-year-old boy, Saleh Aslam, who tragically died in an accident while playing Spider-Man, have honored his memory. Saleh was at home in Watford, Hertfordshire, during the half-term break when a 40kg (6st) towel radiator he was climbing detached from the wall, causing severe head injuries. Emergency services were summoned to the residence around 15:40 GMT on October 28. Despite their efforts, Saleh passed away later that day at Watford General Hospital. Saleh’s father, Mohammad Aslam, conveyed his profound grief to BBC Three Counties, stating: “We have no words to explain the pain.” Mr. Aslam explained that Saleh was playing Spider-Man games at their home in the Garston area. This occurred while Saleh and his siblings were off school for half term and were with their mother, Bibi Khadija. Mr. Aslam recounted, “She literally went upstairs for two minutes.” He detailed the incident: “As he tried to climb, it [the radiator] came off the hook – the entire radiator, which was around 40kg.” He added, “It knocked his head and that unfortunate event caused him to bleed from his brain.” At Saleh’s funeral on November 2, his parents paid tribute to their son, describing him as “kind and humble,” as reported by the Watford Observer. Mr. Aslam expressed his intention to urge parents to ensure their children understand the distinction between fantasy and reality concerning superhero characters. He stated: “There are a lot of virtual characters, which are there to entertain children such as Superman and Spider-Man, but these kids do not understand that they do not in reality exist.” He further explained the circumstances of the tragedy: “That’s precisely what happened to Saleh – he was thinking he was Spider-Man and tried to climb, which caused the fatal crash, and he passed away.” A spokesman for Hertfordshire Police confirmed that Saleh’s death is not being treated as suspicious. The East of England Ambulance Service verified its attendance at the boy’s home on October 28. A statement from the service read: “A boy was transported to Watford General Hospital in a serious condition. We would like to express our condolences to the boy’s family.” Post navigation Individual Apprehended Twice in Seven Days for Suspected Drink Driving Animal Rights Protesters Receive Sentences for Milk-Pouring Incidents
