A mother and father have been charged in connection with a vehicle collision that resulted in the death of their baby. Seven-month-old Emanuela Sakyi passed away after a head-on crash that occurred two years ago in Milton Keynes. Emmanuel Sakyi, 29, of Garraways in Milton Keynes, has been accused of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving while over the alcohol limit. Ruth Oppong, 32, from Warwick Road in Coventry, has been charged with aiding and abetting causing death by dangerous driving and causing the unnecessary suffering or injury of a child. Thames Valley Police indicated that Mr Sakyi had previously been charged with driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit and failing to stop after a road accident. The incident took place on Sunday 4 December 2022 on a section of the H10 at Bletcham Way, situated between the Denbigh roundabout and Fenny Lock. A grey Peugeot 508 was involved in a head-on collision with a green Fiat 500. Police stated: “Tragically, as a result of the collision, seven-month-old Emanuela Sakyi died from injuries sustained.” Mr Sakyi and Ms Oppong are scheduled to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
