Paralympic gold medallist Gregg Stevenson has announced his retirement from Para-rowing. He notably secured a gold medal with Lauren Rowles at Paris 2024. The 40-year-old athlete, competing in the PR2 mixed double sculls, achieved victory at Paris 2024 alongside his partner Lauren Rowles. Together, the pair also earned world and European titles. Stevenson expressed his gratitude, stating, “I will be forever grateful to everyone at GB Rowing and for the support from all the coaches involved in my development and journey to the Paris Paralympic Games.” Before his Para-rowing career, Stevenson served as a Royal Engineer Commando; a traumatic injury in 2009 resulted in a double leg amputation. He further reflected, “I learned a lot about myself and I have grown as a person since my involvement.” Stevenson acknowledged that while it is “hard to imagine life without the goal of competing in the summer,” he is looking forward “to spending more time with my family and embarking on other exciting challenges.” Post navigation St Mirren Secures 3-2 Victory Over St Johnstone Following Dramatic Finish Hibs’ Recent Performances Spark Optimism for Season
