The public was advised to stay away from a car park in Jersey during an effort to extract an Asian hornet nest from a cliff face. Volunteers from the Jersey Asian Hornet Group located the nest, which was positioned 35 meters (114 feet) up on Snow Hill. Its removal required a crane operating “at its highest extension,” followed by the deployment of an extendable lance, as stated by the group. The Government of Jersey confirmed that its invasive species and geomarine teams provided assistance. The Jersey Asian Hornet Group also reported that volunteers have now aided in addressing over 1,000 nests throughout the island.
