Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo held a press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Newcastle United at home, scheduled for 14:00 GMT. The following are the main points from his briefing: Espirito Santo stated that the team news remained “basically the same” as it was for the previous weekend’s victory against West Ham, with Danilo and Ibrahima Sangare continuing to be sidelined as long-term absentees. Regarding his Premier League manager of the month award, he commented: “I’m very proud of the way we’ve been doing things. All of us – starting from the owner to the staff in the training ground. Everybody has been working very hard and it’s very nice to be recognised. I think it’s an effort from the club.” He expressed being “very pleased” that Chris Wood received the player of the month award, stating: “It reflects the hard work but it’s more important you remain humble. He’s much more than the goals – it’s what he represents and what he means for us.” Further elaborating on Wood, Nuno added: “He puts everybody together – his presence in the dressing room, his voice, his experience. We are delighted.” When asked if it was more challenging to select the team when all players are performing strongly, he responded: “When we have players available in good momentum, helping the team, it becomes easier because you have more options and solutions. We have immense trust in all the squad.” Addressing owner Evangelos Marinakis’ vision for the club, Nuno stated: “Good because I think, starting from the owner, the ambition to grow and improve the club makes us all aware of where we want to go.” Post navigation Wilder Hopes Brewster’s Goal Marks a Turning Point Arteta Praises Arsenal’s “Clever and Efficient” Performance
