Firefighters from across a county were recognized for their “professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication” at an annual awards ceremony. The Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) honored both firefighters and support personnel for their commitment to public safety. Chief Fire Officer Nikki Watson and Danielle Stone, the county’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC), presented the commendations. Ms. Watson remarked that Friday’s event offered a “fantastic opportunity” to acknowledge the “vital work” undertaken by NFRS. Long service and good conduct awards were bestowed upon firefighters and fire service staff who had accumulated over 20 years of service. Nicky Evans, who operates in the control room handling 999 calls, received recognition for 40 years of service. Oundle fire station secured the on-call award, while Corby white watch was presented with the community award. The PFCC stated, “I continue to be amazed by the efforts of our firefighters and fire staff.” She added, “It was a privilege to be able to attend the awards ceremony and celebrate their achievements.” For news from Northamptonshire, information can be found on BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
