A farm shop located in North Yorkshire, which ceased operations earlier in the current year, is slated for reopening following its acquisition by new proprietors for £2.2 million. The establishment, previously known as Keelham Farm Shop, situated on Gargrave Road, close to Skipton, was acquired by Robertshaw’s Farm Shop Limited, an entity based in Thornton, Bradford. The retail outlet ceased trading at the close of 2023, attributed to its previous owners’ difficulties with the cost of living, subsequently entering administration in January after no prospective purchasers emerged. Rob Cruikshank, an associate director at Watling Real Estate’s Leeds office, which provided advisory services for the transaction, expressed that he was “delighted to have achieved a sale that will retain the property’s existing use”. He further stated: “There is a lack of similar offerings in the surrounding area and I’m sure local residents will be pleased to see the property open its doors as a farm shop again.“The reopening will help to boost the local economy and bring a number of jobs into the area.“Robertshaw’s has been successfully operating its farm shop business in Thornton, near Bradford, for over 50 years.” The farm shop in Skipton initially commenced operations in 2015, established by siblings Victoria and James Robertshaw. This location originally served as a secondary outlet to their primary Keelham farm shop situated in Thornton, Bradford. The two farm shop entities separated in 2019, and the Skipton operation was subsequently divested to investors in 2020. In a statement published on their website, Robertshaw’s declared: “We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully acquired a new site in Skipton, with plans to open in early 2025. This expansion represents a significant milestone for Robertshaw’s and presents exciting opportunities for growth and development.” Post navigation Investment Shortfall Delays Guernsey Cannabis Facility Plans Kent Farmer Expresses Concern for Turkey Industry’s Future
