North Denes Primary and Nursery School in Great Yarmouth has been temporarily shut down due to considerable flooding within its premises. Norfolk County Council issued an alert on Monday morning, stating that “water and electrics need to be disconnected” at the school. Victoria Bland, the head teacher, informed the BBC that “The floors of both school halls are flooded and the carpet in the main corridor is saturated.” Ms. Bland indicated that a burst pipe was the cause of the flooding and mentioned that the duration of the school’s closure is not yet determined.
