A non-league football club is providing additional time for volunteers to help prepare its ground for a significant FA Cup match. Kettering Town has scheduled an extra “volunteer day,” where fans contribute to sprucing up the stadium, ahead of their second-round fixture against Doncaster Rovers. The Poppies, who compete in the seventh tier of English football, advanced to round two for the first time since 2010 after defeating their League One rivals, Northampton Town. The club had initially planned two volunteer days this month to get its Latimer Park ground ready for upcoming matches, but a third day has now been added to the schedule. In a statement released on social media, the club announced: “Due to the exceptional response to our advertised volunteer days on the 14th November and 28 November 2024, we are adding an additional day on Sunday 17th November.” Volunteers will be engaged in tasks such as painting, performing ground maintenance, and undertaking general tidying and refurbishing. Kettering Town is set to compete against Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup on 30 November.
