Nicky Cadden stated that Hibernian is currently experiencing a lack of luck, but maintained that they are “a really good team” that requires only a single win to initiate a positive “snowball” effect. The team from Leith currently occupies the second-to-last position in the Scottish Premiership standings, having secured only one victory in their initial 10 matches. However, winger Cadden believes that a crucial second win is on the horizon. The 28-year-old player has recently been sidelined due to an injury, missing four games, and observing from the stands. He made his comeback midweek in the match against Ross County. “It’s very close, very close,” he commented while looking ahead to Sunday’s fixture against Dundee United. He elaborated, stating, “Even in the games when I was injured, I’m watching and I’m thinking, ‘we’re a really good team here and we’re playing good stuff’ and it’s just maybe the ball’s not falling in the box at the right time or we’re just not getting that rub of the green.” He further added, “I think we just need one win. Once we get that out the road I think we’ll be fine. We’re a good group.” Cadden, who joined his twin brother Chris at Hibs this summer, has accumulated experience playing both north and south of the border. These experiences over his 11-year career lead him to believe that the team’s fortunes will soon turn around. He concluded by saying, “I’ve been in changing rooms a lot worse that were doing a lot better. So I think it’s just about getting that first win and knowing we can do it. And then it’ll take care of itself. Once we get that first win, I think it’ll snowball from there.”
