A well-liked walking path located in Lincolnshire will receive an enhancement: a new footpath, measuring one mile in length, will be constructed encircling what was once a flooded gravel pit, now a lake. The Millennium Green in North Hykeham is scheduled for a three-week closure, commencing on January 6, to allow for these improvements. According to North Kesteven District Council, the location, situated off Station Road, will become “better for walkers, wheelchair users, cyclists and other visitors, opening up the site to more of our community” following the upgrade. Richard Wright, who serves as the council leader and executive member for development, economy, and culture, stated: “Once the path is finished we’ll be inviting the community to join us for a collective walk to celebrate the improved access.” He further indicated an understanding that frequent visitors might experience disappointment, but emphasized that the site’s closure “means that it can all happen quickly and more cost-effectively, giving the Green back to the public in the shortest possible time.” The council also mentioned that the addition of the new footpath would facilitate enhanced year-round access for “a wider range of visitors.” Post navigation Jersey Community Foundation Distributes £1 Million to Charities in December Campaigner Aims to Transform Perceptions of Disability
