New Church Targeting University Students Approved in Preston

Preston City Council planners have given their approval for the conversion of a unit situated in Moor Park Court on St George’s Road, Deepdale. This unit will serve as a new base for The Potters House Christian Fellowship, establishing a new church on an industrial estate specifically aimed at university students. This new location will mark the evangelical church’s second community base established in Preston, supplementing an existing facility on Garstang Road that has been operational since 2010. According to the fellowship, a significant portion of its prospective worshippers reside within walking distance of the new premises. The organization anticipates that “the majority of congregations [to] be made up of university students”. Attendance for Sunday morning services is estimated at approximately 85 individuals, with around 40 people projected to attend evening services held on Wednesdays and Sundays. An existing car park with 28 spaces will be available for worshippers.
