A newly established hospital in Birmingham has recorded the birth of its first identical triplets. The girls, named Luna, Theia, and Nephele, were born on Thursday at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, located in Smethwick. Their parents, Tessa and Patrick, expressed immense joy and commended the hospital for its exceptional care. The transfer of maternity services to this facility occurred on Wednesday, following the closure of City Hospital Birmingham’s facilities. Tessa stated: “We are overjoyed with the birth of our beautiful baby girls. “It’s been an amazing morning and we can’t wait to get to know them. “The care has been outstanding at the hospital and the facilities have made it such a comfortable experience.” The hospital reported that Luna weighed 4lb 1oz, Theia 4lb, and Nephele 3lb 3oz, and each infant was allocated a dedicated healthcare professional for their care. Midwife Cynthia Okello commented: “It’s been a truly amazing morning at new hospital’s maternity department.“This is our first set of triplets and we’re all happy as all three were successful deliveries.”One triplet is being cared for in the neonatal unit just because of her size.“It’s been a busy but remarkable morning”, Ms Okello added.
