A music festival will not proceed in 2025, attributing this hiatus to “ongoing costs and difficulties finding the right artists”. The event, known as Live in Somerset, is held annually in Vivary Park, Taunton, during the August Bank Holiday weekend. Past headliners have included Busted, JLS, and the Ministry of Sound classical orchestra. LCC Live, the organizers, have confirmed the festival’s return in 2026. Les Kidger, a director at LCC Live, stated: “We couldn’t quite get the artists we wanted, we couldn’t get the right mix together.” He further commented: “Knowing that in 2026 Glastonbury will take a fallow year we thought why don’t we just take a year out and come back bigger and stronger in 2026.” Mr. Kidger also mentioned that the popular event’s ongoing operational costs have presented a challenge. Concerts have been hosted at Vivary Park in Taunton consistently since 2016. Mr. Kidger additionally noted: “In 2024 we had our second-highest audience numbers since we started.” He concluded by saying: “We’re excited about coming back in 2026, we’ve already got a couple of artists booked in.”
