An inquest has been informed that a man faces a murder charge in connection with the fatal stabbing of a British national in Spain. Nikki Robinson, a resident of Hucknall in Nottinghamshire, sustained an attack outside the Oxygen nightclub in Calella, a town situated close to Barcelona, on June 21st, and succumbed to his injuries at the location. During proceedings at Nottingham Coroner’s Court on Monday, it was revealed that the 30-year-old victim, whose profession involved constructing paddocks for Formula 1 VIP sections, died as a result of a single stab wound to his chest. Deborah Robinson expressed her resolve to “get justice” for her son. The court was informed that Mr. Robinson was in the region for work related to the Spanish Grand Prix and had been scheduled to return home on June 26th. He and several colleagues had received funds from their employer for an evening out and proceeded to the nightclub following a visit to a steak restaurant. According to testimony heard in court, Mr. Robinson was attacked subsequent to his departure from the club. Mairin Casey, the senior coroner for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, stated that Spanish authorities have confirmed that a man has been charged in connection with the death. She noted that “limited” information had been disclosed because of ongoing legal proceedings. “I’m unable to say what the circumstances [around] the death were, but I’m hopeful that that will be explored fully in the criminal trial in Spain,” she stated. A post-mortem examination verified the cause of death, and Ms. Casey indicated that the absence of defensive injuries implies “that this was a very sudden attack.” She added, “It’s likely that he just didn’t anticipate it.” The inquest was informed that Ms. Robinson has retained a Spanish lawyer to provide assistance during the criminal proceedings. She mentioned that her son had a passion for travel, particularly with his dog Bulla, and that his employment had “opened his eyes to a new world.” “He was so excited about the future,” she remarked. She also stated, “He was trying to better his life.” Following the hearing, Ms. Robinson commented: “It seems like it was just yesterday.” She continued, “Somehow I wake up every morning and we’re five months down the line, but I don’t know how I’ve got from there to here.” Post navigation Richard Allen sentenced to 130 years for Indiana double murder Domestic Abuse Survivor Fran Murphy Collaborates with Police to Enhance Victim Support
