Emergency responders, comprising six fire brigades, were dispatched to the M11 northbound, specifically between Harston and Cambridge, around 05:20 GMT. Cambridgeshire Police communicated that the thoroughfare would stay inaccessible as emergency personnel managed the situation and cleared the road surface. The fire department declared the origin of the blaze to be “accidental”. A police spokesperson stated: “Officers attended along with the fire service and there were no injuries and no arrests.” Law enforcement personnel departed the location around 08:20 GMT, with responsibility for road closures transferred to highways authorities. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service reported receiving the call at 05:33, leading to the deployment of crews from Sawston, Cottenham, Cambridge, and Burwell. Additionally, a water tender from Newmarket in Suffolk and a team from Royston in Hertfordshire were present. Personnel utilized breathing apparatus, and fire crews began their return to their respective stations by 07:50. Furthermore, traffic delays occurred on the A14 between Huntingdon and Cambridge as a result of a separate accident.
