Following their 2-1 triumph in August, Motherwell seeks to achieve consecutive league wins against St Johnstone, a feat they have not accomplished since November 2019. St Johnstone has secured three victories in their last four away league encounters at Motherwell (with one draw), a notable improvement after previously losing four of their preceding five such away fixtures (with one win). Motherwell has suffered defeats in their most recent two home league matches; the last instance of a longer losing streak at home was in November 2022, when they lost four consecutive games. St Johnstone has allowed more goals than any other team in the Scottish Premiership this season, with a total of 25 goals conceded, and has managed only two clean sheets across their 12 matches played so far. Furthermore, their expected goals against total of 17.4 is second only to Dundee’s 19.0 in the division this term. Motherwell has recorded the fewest shots (108) of any team in the Scottish Premiership this season. Additionally, only Hibernian and Ross County, both with 10 goals, have scored fewer goals than the Steelmen’s 13.
