Morrisons, a supermarket chain, has revealed its intention to establish an additional 15 outlets across Jersey, Guernsey, and Alderney. This development follows Morrisons’ finalization of its purchase of 36 convenience stores from SandpiperCI. These recently acquired establishments are presently known by the Iceland, Chequers Express, and Le Cocq brand names. A representative for the UK retailer stated: “In the coming months all stores, with the exception of the two Le Cocq stores, will be rebranded to the Morrisons format.” Jersey, which currently operates 16 Morrisons Daily stores, is set to receive eight newly rebranded stores. Meanwhile, Guernsey, already home to three Morrisons Daily stores, will see the addition of seven rebranded locations. Alderney will retain the two Le Cocq shops without changes. A Morrisons spokesperson confirmed that an investment exceeding £7 million is earmarked for the conversion and rebranding initiative. Rami Baitiéh, Morrisons’ chief executive, commented: “I am delighted that now the transaction has completed we can welcome 520 new colleagues into the Morrisons family. “It’s a great business with great colleagues and we are all looking forward to the exciting next chapter.”” Post navigation Elon Musk Amends Lawsuit Against OpenAI, Adding Microsoft as Defendant Community Expresses Concern Over Proposed Post Office Branch Closures
