A council has announced that residents will be provided with a “safe space” to access support via a mobile bus. Maldon District Council confirmed that the brightly colored Winter Wellbeing vehicle will offer visitors the chance to consult with experts on topics such as energy conservation, home energy grants, and other available assistance. Operating as part of a trial, the distinct lime green and pink bus will be stationed at Butt Lane Car Park in Maldon from 09:15 GMT to 11:15 on Thursday, before relocating to Plantation Hall in Heybridge from 11:30 to 13:30. Independent Richard Siddall, who leads Maldon District Council, stated: “I am delighted that the council has been able to use this opportunity to provide a mobile Winter Wellbeing hub to our residents.” He further added: “This trial demonstrates our commitment to tackling the challenges our communities face during the winter season.” The bus is owned by Open Road, a charity focused on aiding individuals struggling with alcohol and drug abuse, which has granted the council permission to use it.
