Mikel Arteta has indicated that the current period may be opportune to further develop the promising young player, Ethan Nwaneri. The 17-year-old is experiencing increasing demands for more playing time following his impressive displays in the EFL Cup. Nwaneri, notable as the youngest player to have participated in the Premier League, has netted three goals across his two starts for Arsenal in the cup competition. Furthermore, he has made four substitute appearances in the Premier League, including significant matches against Tottenham and Liverpool. “I think the biggest thing is to push him and then when he is pushing you grab him from behind to make sure he is stable and protected,” said Arteta. “This talent you have to push him. Protection is necessary, keeping an eye on him but he needs to see that he can go and fly and not cut his wings.”
