Former Ipswich defender Mick Mills shared his thoughts with BBC Radio Suffolk concerning the club’s next two Premier League matches: an away game against Tottenham and a home fixture versus Manchester United, both scheduled after the international break. Mills commented on the historical performance of both clubs, stating: “Apart from when Sir Alex Ferguson managed Manchester United, I’ve always put them and Tottenham in the same bracket; they can either be absolutely scintillating or a gross disappointment. That is the thing that we’ve got to cling to.” He elaborated on Tottenham’s current form, noting their inconsistency this season. Mills recalled a specific match, saying: “I saw 45 minutes at Brighton where they were absolutely superb and another 45 minutes that was absolute rubbish.” He suggested that when facing such unpredictable teams, “you have to go in with a bit of confidence. You might just land correctly on the right day and be able to take them.” Regarding the home game against Manchester United at Portman Road, Mills anticipates a significant crowd, highlighting that it will be Ruben Amorim’s first match. He described it as “a big occasion for him,” adding, “but I’m quite confident about it. Let’s hope that they wilt under the pressure of the good atmosphere we have here.” Mills concluded by stating: “I’m not too worried about these two games, not like I would be for the top-four teams who are ultra consistent.”
