Approximately 100 commemorative plaques honoring deceased loved ones are being erected throughout a local estate. Middlesbrough resident Ann Hanratty spearheaded this initiative, which has resulted in numerous small memorials being affixed to fencing in the Fransham Road and Kimberley Drive vicinity. She explained that after she placed the initial few, word spread, and she now has dozens more to install. Independent Middlesbrough councillor Dennis McCabe remarked that the project exemplifies “community spirit.” Mrs. Hanratty shared, “It started out with just a few, 10, 15 plaques and then when people started hearing about it, they’ve all been getting in touch with me to get their loved ones put on as well.” She also stated that the memorials “[will] give somewhere for them [the children and grandchildren] to be able to go and look.” Follow BBC Tees on X, Facebook, Nextdoor and Instagram, external.
