Glenavon has announced the addition of Marty McCann and Colin Coates to its backroom staff, serving under newly appointed manager Paddy McLaughlin. McLaughlin, previously manager at Cliftonville, took over as the Lurgan Blues’ manager on Sunday, following Stephen McDonnell’s departure the preceding day. Both McCann and Coates share a professional history with McLaughlin, stemming from their time together at Solitude. During this period, McCann served as a first-team coach in north Belfast, while Coates was a member of the playing squad. The trio, comprising McLaughlin, McCann, and Coates, were present at Stangmore Park on Tuesday. This occasion marked McLaughlin’s inaugural match in charge, which saw Glenavon suffer a 2-1 loss to Dungannon Swifts in the Mid Ulster Cup semi-finals.
