Marcus Rashford’s Performance Record Under Scrutiny

Assessing Marcus Rashford’s effectiveness is quite complex. When considering his goal contributions per season, he does not consistently emerge as one of Manchester United’s most crucial players. In his nine seasons, he has only surpassed the “magical 20-goal barrier,” a common benchmark for strikers, three times. During Erik ten Hag’s inaugural campaign in 2022-23, Rashford was indeed exceptional, seemingly scoring nearly every week en route to an impressive 30 goals. Unfortunately, that level of offensive output has not been maintained. In Rashford’s defense, with seven goals already tallied in 2024-25, he is on track to easily surpass last season’s modest total of eight goals scored and five assists.
