Police have reported the discovery of a man’s body at the location of a house fire in Assynt. Emergency services, specifically fire crews from Ullapool, Achiltibuie, and Durness, responded to the incident at the Drumbeg property, situated in the north west Highlands, around 16:20 on Wednesday. According to police, the discovery of the body occurred once the blaze had been brought under control. Firefighting personnel departed the site approximately at 22:30. Police Scotland confirmed that the man’s next of kin have been informed. A spokesperson stated: “The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.” Drumbeg, a small community, is located approximately 40 miles north of Ullapool.
