Manchester United is currently engaged in discussions regarding the acquisition of Cerro Porteno defender Diego Leon. The proposed transfer for the 17-year-old, who has accumulated 19 appearances and netted two goals in the Paraguayan top flight, is reportedly valued at approximately £6m, encompassing potential add-ons, according to his selling club in South America. Leon and his entourage are understood to be present in England with the aim of concluding the agreement. Despite his youth, Leon has the potential to become the initial signing under Ruben Amorim’s management at Old Trafford. Amorim is transitioning the team’s formation from a back four to a three-at-the-back system, incorporating wing-backs, a position Leon is adept at. Previously, Arsenal had also been linked to the young defender.
