Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor addressed reporters ahead of Friday’s Women’s Super League match against Tottenham, scheduled for a 19:30 GMT kick-off. During his news conference, Taylor described playing at Etihad Stadium as “exciting” and “a step forward”. Regarding Vivianne Miedema, Taylor stated that she is “happy” and “feels good,” adding that “we are still on target for trying to get her back as soon as possible.” Positive updates were also provided concerning Naomi Layzell, who is “getting closer” to a return, and both Ayaka Yamashita and Mary Fowler have rejoined the squad. Addressing Manchester City’s unbeaten start, Taylor commented, “Following the plan and trusting what we do is really important.” He further remarked, “We go from game to game as boring as it sounds. We have to understand why we are there [top of the league].” Discussing the upcoming opponent, Tottenham, he stated, “We know the areas we can exploit, we know their strengths. We have to be really on it to make sure we exert ourselves in the right way.”
