Manchester City Council anticipates generating approximately £375,000 from Oasis’s upcoming reunion performances and other events. Liam and Noel Gallagher are scheduled to reunite for a 2025 tour, which includes five sold-out concerts at the council-owned Heaton Park. The Manchester City Council has indicated that these shows, along with the annual Parklife Festival and other performances, are projected to yield a £375,000 profit for the 2025-26 financial year. Budgetary documents reveal that councillors plan to leverage this “one-off” boost to help stabilize the local authority’s finances as it seeks to reduce expenditures. Due to financial pressures, council leaders are proposing to implement increased parking fees, fines of up to £180 for littering, and higher charges for social care, in an effort to close a £29 million budget deficit. An estimated 80,000 attendees are expected each night Oasis performs at the 600-acre (242-hectare) venue. The council had previously stated that these events would not incur any cost to taxpayers. John Hacking, executive councillor for leisure, confirmed in October that concert organizers would be responsible for covering policing and other related expenses.
