An individual who raped a woman in an Aberdeen churchyard has been incarcerated for seven years. Sean Wyness, 34, was found guilty following a trial at the High Court in Aberdeen. Police had been summoned to St Clements Church in the early hours of Sunday, May 15, 2022. Wyness received a nine-year extended sentence, which includes seven years in prison and two years of subsequent supervision. Following the sentencing, Detective Inspector Ryan Morris of Police Scotland stated: “Wyness will now face the consequences of his despicable actions in prison. I would like to commend the woman for her strength in coming forward during the investigation.
