A man had £4,000 stolen from him shortly after withdrawing the money from a bank, following a distraction incident while he was placing his wheelchair into his vehicle. Cheshire Police reported that the “vulnerable” individual had taken out the cash from Barclays Bank located on Market Gate, Warrington, around 11:30 GMT on 14 October, prior to returning to his car on Legh Street. According to the force, an unidentified woman engaged him in conversation as he was stowing his wheelchair, while a second woman subsequently took the cash from inside his car. As part of their ongoing investigation, the police have also disseminated CCTV footage showing three women they wish to interview. PC Graham Davies stated: “From our initial investigation it would appear that the suspects have followed the victim across Warrington after watching him withdraw the cash.” He further commented: “After stealing the money we believe that the offenders have fled in a taxi, which took them to the Paddington area, but from there we’ve been unable to trace their whereabouts.” Authorities have appealed to anyone with relevant information to get in touch with the police.
