One man was successfully rescued by firefighters responding to a significant blaze at a Leicester warehouse. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service reported that 13 crews were dispatched to a distribution warehouse situated on Burnmoor Street, near the King Power Stadium, at approximately 18:30 GMT on Monday. Leicestershire Police announced the closure of Burnmoor Street, Filbert Street, Sawday Street, and Brazil Street, and advised nearby residents to keep their windows and doors shut. A spokesperson for the fire service indicated that there was not yet “confirmation that everyone is out.” The spokesperson added, “We are not sure how many people were in there at the time.” He detailed that eight breathing apparatus units, three hose reel jets, and two main jets were being utilized. He further stated that a total of 10 fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, a command support vehicle, and a welfare vehicle were present at the scene.
