Firefighters have rescued an individual following a blaze in Wiltshire. Emergency crews were dispatched to Drove Road in Swindon at 03:08 GMT, responding to reports of a fire in the roof of a bungalow. The Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service deployed six fire appliances from Swindon, Stratton, Westlea, Marlborough, Royal Wootton Bassett, and Pewsey. A man, who resided in the property, was brought out by firefighters and subsequently transferred into the care of the ambulance service. The operational response to the incident has since been scaled back to four crews and an aerial appliance. A road closure has been implemented on Drove Road, specifically on the Old Town side of Groundwell Road. The fire service has indicated that it will conduct an investigation in due course.
