Irish police (gardaí) have released a man in his 60s without charge, following his arrest as part of their inquiry into the 2022 explosion in Creeslough, County Donegal. This blast, which claimed the lives of 10 individuals, occurred at a service station within the village on 7 October 2022. The victims, comprising four men, three women, two teenagers, and a five-year-old girl, resided either in Creeslough itself or nearby communities. According to gardaí, the man’s arrest on Thursday was for alleged offences under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997. A report concerning the case will now be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions. Creeslough, situated in Ireland’s north-west, is a small village located approximately 15 miles (24km) from Letterkenny and 30 miles (48km) from the Northern Ireland border. Its population numbers approximately 400 residents. The ongoing investigation is being managed from Milford Garda station, receiving assistance from the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and various other agencies.
