A man in his 50s has been granted bail subsequent to his arrest on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a deadly crash. Norfolk Police reported that two pedestrians, both in their 80s, were struck by a white BMW Mini One at approximately 16:20 GMT on Sunday. The incident occurred on the A148 at its junction with Avenue Road in High Kelling, Norfolk. The force confirmed that both individuals died at the scene. Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the manner of the Mini’s driving before the collision to come forward. They have also requested any relevant dashcam footage. In a statement, Canon Howard Stoker, the Rector of Holt with High Kelling, conveyed that his “thoughts and prayers” were with all those affected by “this double tragedy”. He further added: “Understandably, members of our congregations are reeling in shock and filled with sorrow following the tragic death of two much loved members of our church family.” The Bishop of Norwich, the Right Reverend Graham Barham Usher, also paid tribute to the couple, describing their death as a “tragedy”.
